Isshin-Ryu was created by Shimabuku Tatsuo in 1957 after he studied the styles of Goju-Ryu and Shorin-Ryu. Grandmaster Angi Uezu is the son-in-law of the system's founder and has been a lifelong Isshin-Ryu practitioner beginning his training in the late 1960's and becoming a black belt 3 years later. On this DVD, Grandmaster Uezu teaches many life-saving self-defense techniques which combines the best aspects of Goju-Ryu and Shorin-Ryu.
