Featuring Oleg Taktarov Oleg Taktarov was born in Russia and eventually emigrated to the United States to become an actor. His interest in the martial arts began at age twelve, when he began training in Judo and Sambo. Sambo is a martial art meaning `self-defense without weapons.' On Volume 1, Taktarov shares his Sambo takedowns and finishing holds. Watch Taktarov as he demonstrates the techniques he used during his competition fights, as well as techniques which are specific to self defense and to police forces work. He begins his lesson by demonstrating his warm-up sequences, and then moves on to throws, explanations of immobilizations and many locks, including ankle locks, as well as leg, arm and wrist locking techniques.
